Senior Manager, Corporate Agribusiness Clients
A seasoned banker with a calm hand and a long memory. Economist by training, relationship builder by calling — steering corporate agribusiness portfolios through the real rhythms of season, market, and trust.
01 · Profile
Richard serves within the Agribusiness Unit of CRDB Bank's Corporate Banking Department — the team that sits closest to Tanzania's real economy. His work pairs financial discipline with relational patience: the patience to understand a client's harvest calendar, the discipline to structure capital that survives the dry years as well as the green ones.
Leading relationship strategy and credit stewardship for corporate agribusiness portfolios — from origination to ongoing partnership.
Calm, clear, risk-aware. The kind of banker who asks one more question before signing — and answers honestly when asked one of his own.
Father of two daughters. Lover of simple, honest things: good conversation, calm spaces, and a life where work and home share the same values.
02 · Journey
Built over more than two decades — through branches, head offices, and the quiet stretch of client relationships that outlast any one mandate.
Honours Bachelor's Degree in Economics. Where the early discipline of reading numbers as narratives began.
Bank Officer, then Acting Manager — Business Banking, Lumumba Branch. First decade at the counter and then at the desk that keeps the counter honest.
Manager, Business Operations — Head Office. A year of seeing how a different institution thinks, before bringing those lessons home.
Relationship Manager, rising through senior roles in the Agribusiness Unit — presently Senior Manager, Corporate Agribusiness Clients.
Current role03 · Philosophy
I
Credibility is a compounding asset. It is earned by doing the ordinary things consistently, across many quiet seasons.
II
Clear options, clear risks, clear next steps. No theatre, no surprises — just the plain truth of the deal on the table.
III
Agribusiness follows seasons, not spreadsheets. Good structures respect rainfall, cash cycles, and the discipline of patience.
IV
Serious about outcomes; human in approach. Humour is welcome; shortcuts around the client's interest are not.
04 · Roots
Richard was raised in Moshi-Hai, Kilimanjaro — the shadow of the mountain, the discipline of the highlands, the rhythm of people who plant and wait. Those early lessons still shape how he works: strong foundations, steady hands, long horizons.
